Abstract

The digitization of land administration systems has emerged as a significant reform trend in both developing and developed jurisdictions, with the overarching goals of improving transparency, efficiency, and access to property rights. In Punjab, the movement toward digitization reflects a broader recognition of the inefficiencies and corruption embedded in the traditional patwari-based system. Existing literature outlines how the integration of information technology in land administration can potentially minimize property disputes, reduce transaction time, and improve institutional accountability. However, scholarly evaluations also highlight that such transitions are heavily dependent on the legal and regulatory infrastructure, as well as institutional readiness, to ensure sustainable outcomes. The land record system is fundamental system for administration of a nation and it development and transparency are need of the hour more importantly it unfolds the new dynamic in land record and ensure the safety of peoples right it has importance as Pakistan especially Punjab the livelihood is directly linked with the land in many ways.
